NCFI's Privacy Policy:

The Nanaimo Cedar Farmers’ Institute collects, uses and discloses contact information about our members and market vendors. Protecting this contact information refers to information that allows an individual of the general public to contact a producer or vendor – contact information may include the name, position, business or farm name, telephone number, address, email and fax number. Products and prices may also be provided.

Protecting such personal information is one of our highest priorities.

While we have always respected privacy and safeguarded personal information, we have strengthened our commitment to protecting personal information as a result of British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). PIPA, which came into effect on January 1, 2004, sets out the ground rules for how B.C. businesses and not-for-profit organizations may collect, use and disclose personal information.

We will inform our members, producers, and vendors of why and how we collect, use and disclose their personal information. Where required, we will obtain their consent and will handle their personal information in a manner that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances.

In compliance with PIPA, our privacy commitment includes ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of all contact and personal information and will allow our members and vendors to request access to, and correction of, their personal contact information.
